About Emily Bethell
I am a Lecturer in Primatology and Animal Behaviour at Liverpool John Moores University.
My research focus is primate social cognition and behaviour: what monkeys and apes can tell us about human evolution, and the implications of similarities and differences in cognitive processes for understanding and improving psychological wellbeing of primates held in captivity. I use a range of methods including field observation and experiments, computer-based tasks in the laboratory and collection of non-invasive physiological measures. With humans, I have also conducted electroencephalogram (EEG - brain wave) and questionnaire studies. Please click on the menu above for further information. |
